Huelva, 3 June 2015. The charity sports event “Get Moving for a Better World”, organised by the company’s social project Clece Social, together with the Huelva Sports Village, collected a total of 1,746 kg of food last Saturday, to be donated to the Red Cross and the Valdocco Foundation, organisations that help people from vulnerable social groups in the province of Huelva, and which also took an active part in the initiative.

More than 550 people took part in the Aquathlon, Zumbathon and Zip Wire activities organised, and many of the participants had a particular disability or special needs. For each entry, 3 kg of non-perishable food items were donated, and many participants attended with yet more food, which was donated directly to the Huelva Red Cross.

“We wanted this initiative to raise awareness among those taking part of the daily reality faced by people from the most vulnerable groups in society, through a healthy sports activity,” explained Juan Francisco Sánchez, Head of Services for Clece in Huelva. “With this sporting challenge, in which we also wanted to encourage people with special needs to get involved, we were able to see community spirit of Clece’s people,” he added.
