CCS Airport Services to provide aircraft cleaning service for Thomas Cook at Manchester and Gatwick airports
Madrid, 11 March 2016. The British company Thomas Cook has awarded the service for cleaning the interior of its aircraft at Manchester and Gatwick airports to Clece. The service, which has been in operation since 1 March, is run by CCS Airport Services, the subsidiary of Clece in England, for an initial period of three years, which can be extended for a further two years.
With this award, Clece Airport Services, which has been operating in the UK for two years, is extending its services in the English-speaking market as a result of the work carried out for Thomas Cook since 2010 with the cleaning of its aircraft in Tenerife and Las Palmas, and with handling services in Lanzarote, which was a highly significant factor in this new contract being awarded.
Mario Abajo, the head of CCS in the UK, stressed the importance of this new contract, by which “Clece becomes the leading foreign company providing its services to a private firm in English airports.”
Thomas Cook is one of the leading airlines on the international market, with a workforce of 27,000, more than 2,500 of which are in the UK. The airline currently has a fleet of 31 aircraft operating in 17 countries, carrying 6.7 million passengers to destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and America.
