Grupo CLECE Group has been awarded the services of the recently opened Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda (Madrid). In particular, Grupo CLECE will be responsible for the following services: cleaning, internal transport (of both patients and documents, furniture, etc.), warehouse, vending machines, rodent control, disinfection and parasite control, as well as the maintenance of accesses and gardens.

This hospital, opened on 11 September by Their Royal Highnesses King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofía of Spain, will serve a population of 550,000 inhabitants, meeting the needs of 20 towns and villages in the north-west of the region. It has a total area of 165.000 m2., including 613 beds in individual, external rooms and a car park with 3,000 parking spaces.

The Hospital opened its doors on 16 September for outpatients and on 28 September all the internal services started up, including the transfer of patients from the old Hospital Puerta de Hierro.

The contract with Grupo CLECE has an initial term of 3 years, renewable for 2-year periods, with a budget of approx. 8 million euro/year. This new contract will create 260 new jobs, among management and operators of the different services.

In an effort to efficiently respond to the size of the project, Grupo CLECE has incorporated a state-of-the-art technology that will optimise human resources, thereby providing a better service for patients.
