Cleaning at Universities in Galicia
The constant growth of Clece on the Galician market has been reinforced by new awards of Cleaning Services, with a total 15.2 million euros, at two of the most important universities in the Autonomous Region: the University of Vigo and that of Santiago de Compostela.
The award of the University of Santiago is for a global sum of 11.20 million euros, with a total term of two years. Execution of the contract commenced last 1st March 2006. The work performed consisted of interior cleaning of the Centres (faculties, schools, sports facilities, … etc.), as well as the exterior areas (window bays, shutters, walls, … etc.).
A staff team formed by more than 215 people is assigned to the cleaning tasks which includes cleaners, supervisors and a Service Manager. At the University of Vigo, the new award, for the sum of 4 million euros, for a term of two years, confirms and increases the relation between the academic establishment and Clece. The first award to Clece by that institution took place in 2003 and consisted of the cleaning at 5 Centres at the University. The following year, this was joined by a further 4 Centres, and another two in 2005, the latter located on the Campus of Pontevedra.
The cleaning services provided included, like those at the University of Santiago, the interior and exterior spaces and facilities of the faculties and schools. The personnel Clece has assigned to the University of Vigo consists of a staff of 101 people, including cleaners, supervisors and a Service Manager.
