Following the lead by the Bellvitge Hospital, the Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital in Lleida has awarded Clece –by negotiated procedure- the kitchen, dining hall, cafeteria and drink vending machine service, after providing the cleaning services for six years.
Thanks to their renewed trust in our services, our mission to provide our clients with comprehensive management of their outsourcing requirements is becoming more and more consolidated.


This award involves an amount of 16 million euros in patient and own staff meals, plus another 20 million euros for the rest of the catering services, for a total implementation period of 10 years.

The main challenge of this new award is the union of the two current kitchens (Arnau de Vilanova Hospital -450 beds- and Santa María de Lleida Hospital -80 beds-) into a new one with cold chain technology.

The difference between this management and the last is that production will be finalised directly in the plant units using regeneration trolleys

This will be the THIRD HOSPITAL IN SPAIN WITH THE COMPREHENSIVE PROCESS and the first experience of CLECE in this respect.


Clece’s Catering Activity


The catering activity is experiencing a process of large-scale expansion in Spain, supported by a strong base of strategic reference clients.

The Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs, the Institut Catalá de Salud [Catalan Department of Health], the Government of Cantabria and the Servicio Andaluz de Salud [Andalusian Health Service] are some of the clients Clece provides its services to.

Among other services, every day Clece serves 5,200 meals for over 25 clients and it has sales that exceed 11.5 million euros per year.


It is obvious that Clece’s catering services in Spain are well-established and it covers the communities of Andalusia, Catalonia, Levante, Castile and Leon, Asturias, Cantabria, La Rioja and Melilla, among others.
