Clece awarded AENOR certification for UNE-EN ISO 14064 carbon footprint standard

  • This certification will enable the company to implement management plans against the risks of greenhouse gas emissions resulting from its activity.
  • It marks a further step forward in its firm commitment to combat climate change.

Clece has taken another step in its environmental efforts by securing certification for carbon footprint quantification as part of an integrated management system, with a commitment to the environmental integration of the organisation, not solely in terms of the regulatory framework, but in the company’s commitment to a better society.

The certification for the UNE-EN ISO 14064 standard was awarded by AENOR, the certifying body that has carried out almost 200 annual carbon footprint verifications with public and private organisations, as well as awarding close to a hundred verified carbon footprint certificates for products, services and events. This certification accredits the accuracy of the calculation that Clece has made of the carbon footprint resulting from its activities, quantified at 22,829 tons of CO2.

This calculation of the company’s carbon footprint includes:

  • Direct GHG emissions.
  • Indirect GHG emissions from energy use.
  • Other indirect GHG emissions, such as energy use in the provision of services.

Advantages for Clece of this verification include gaining full knowledge and control of the organisation’s emissions, increased credibility and transparency for the company, and the chance for Clece to develop strategies and early action plans to combat climate change.
