CLECE AND RASTROSOLIDARIO SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO CONVERT USED OIL INTO SOCIAL SUPPORT

The social entity RastroSolidario and the multi-services company Clece have signed a collaboration agreement which aims to generate social support from the collection of used oil.

The agreement has been signed by José Ramón Cuesta, the President of the NGO and Carlos Comín, Clece’s Director of Quality and Environment, who welcomed the agreement.

José Ramón Cuesta commented “We are going to assume the management of oil which is used in more than 400 locations where Clece provides restaurant services. The collaboration therefore involves a logistical and social challenge, and I have to say, we are delighted to be able to respond to this. It is an opportunity to demonstrate that NGOs can be as efficient as companies”.

Carlos Comín added “RastroSolidario is giving us the opportunity to combine our environmental and social commitment, which we are convinced is the best option for managing the used oil generated by our restaurant services. We are gaining a partner that will help us in the efficient and responsible use of our resources as a key part of protecting and caring for our environment. It also allows us to provide resources to like-minded social entities we collaborate with, which already number 350, and which are focused on the integration of social collectives.

Under the framework agreement, Clece will donate used vegetable oils to RastroSolidario. Last year this amounted to 30,000 kilos of oil. From this, the entity has committed to obtain an economic value of 200 Euros per tonne. All of the value generated is destined for NGOs according to the allocation criteria specified by Clece. To realize this economic value, RastroSolidario has signed agreements with different entities which are authorized to manage the treatment of the waste.
