FINALISTS IN EDITION III OF THE COMPROMISO AWARDS

Clece Social, the company’s social project, has announced the finalists in Edition III of the Compromiso Awards. These aim to recognise and drive social initiatives that support disadvantaged collectives. Unlike previous editions, this time the Awards have been organised at state level and focus on a specific issue: gender-based violence.

The finalists by category are:

Award for the Best Social Project delivered by not-for-profit entities for women who are victims of gender-based violence (VGV).  Out of six finalists, three projects will receive awards.

  • Hilos Violeta. Women’s Association “La Rondilla”, Valladolid
  • Care and Comprehensive Action for VGV Mothers’ young children. Deméter por la Igualdad Association. Malaga
  • Mirada en violeta. Candelita. Madrid
  • Family meeting place with a focus on gender issues. Domitila Hernández Association. Tenerife
  • Workplace Integration of VGV women. ARED Foundation Barcelona
  • Dona Impuls. Novafeina Foundation. Quart de Poblet. Valencia.

 

Award to the Author of the Best Journalism on gender-based violence. Of the three finalists, one piece of journalism will receive the award.

  • Laura Gutiérrez. Diario Médico.
  • Arturo Checa. Las Provincias.
  • Chelo Tuya. El Comercio.

The winners of Edition III of the Compromiso Awards will be announced on 7th November at a gala that will take place at Teatros del Canal in Madrid. In addition to the two award categories, there is a Special Award by the Jury for most prominent personality in the struggle against gender-based violence.

The jury for Edition III consists of key figures in the institutional world and civil society involved in the struggle against gender-based violence.  María José Ordoñez, Government Representative for Gender-Based Violence; Lucía del Carmen Cerón, Director of the Institute for Women and Equal Opportunities; Ángeles Carmona, President of the Observatory on domestic and gender-based violence; Marta Ariño, CEO of G+J España; Luis Lorente, Cinema Director and script writer and director of the film “Rotas” (Broken); Fernando Grande-Marlaska, Judge; Gemma Nierga¸ Journalist, and Cristóbal Valderas, Clece’s President.
