CLECE AND THE INTEGRA SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT CENTRE MAINTAIN THEIR ANNUAL INVOLVEMENT IN THE RUN FOR DISABILITY

  • This solidarity run, organised by the DEDINES Association in collaboration with Getafe Town Hall, aims to increase the visibility of the barriers which people with functional differences experience.
  • 178 employees from Integra CEE participated in the initiative, 25 of these as volunteers helping with the organisation and development of run logistics.

For another year, Clece has supported and sponsored the “Run for Disability 2017” through its Special Employment Centre, Integra CEE. This is a social, sporting and solidarity event organised by DEDINES (the Getafe Assocation for the Defence of Disabled and Special Needs Children) in collaboration with Getafe Town Hall.

Integra CEE, as the Special Employment Centre that is committed to the inclusion of those with disabilities into the workpace, had a special role on the day #DedinesPorLaIntegracion. In total, 178 people from Grupo Integra CEE were participants. Of these, 153 were runners, and another 25 were volunteers who contributed to the run organisation by helping in different event logistics, such as preparing the rucksacks given to runners, transporting and distributing them to participants, also offering drinks at refreshment points along the run.

Conchi Manzano, Integra CEE’s social representative commented “This day is more than just about a run. It is a day which raises awareness through enjoyment, and whose purpose is the promotion and defence of the rights of boys and girls who have functional differences”

The 2017 run is the sixth “Run for Disability” and took place last Sunday, 24th September at 10.00 am, with its start and finishing point within Getafe’s fair area.  As in previous years, there were three runs on offer, each adapted to different participant profiles: a 500 metre race for girls, boys and older participants, and another two at 5km and 10km respectively for adults.
