CLECE, MINISTRY OF HEALTH, SOCIAL SERVICES AND EQUALITY AWARD FOR COMMITMENT AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

To commemorate International Day Against Gender Based Violence on 25th November, the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, MSSSI, has recognized Clece’s involvement in the struggle against this social scourge.

Clece has received one of the Recognition Awards given to Organizations and People who are Committed to the Eradication of Violence against Women, granted each year by the MSSSI since 2004. Cristóbal Valderas Alvarado, Clece’s President, received the honour from the Prime Minister of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, during the institutional event held on 25th November which took place at the Moncloa Palace.

“It is very prized recognition and full of significance. It reflects the work of the many people who are involved in an integrating and collaborative project which helps those who are socially more vulnerable. Amongst these, the victims of gender-based violence. Vulnerable and extraordinarily strong at the same time. This prize is for them” declared Clece’s President.

The award recognizes the company project, Clece Social, which for years has been working for the social integration of women who are victims of gender-based violence, their integration into the workplace, and awareness raising around the complex reality of their lives. Currently there are 204 workers victims of gender-based violence within its workforce, which promotes different awareness raising initiatives such as events and campaigns. In addition, it forms part of the network of Companies for a Society Free of Gender Based Violence.
