Clece Group and Nestlé Health Science establish an alliance for better care of elderly people in the field of nutrition

  • The collaboration is based on two aspects: nutritional advice and training, which adds value to the care services provided for elderly people by the Clece Group.

Madrid, 11 June 2014. On 30 May, the CLECE GROUP and NESTLÉ HEALTH SCIENCE sealed an agreement establishing forms of collaboration to incorporate improvements in how elderly people are dealt with in terms of nutrition.

The collaboration is based on two aspects: nutritional advice and training, which means that the CLECE GROUP benefits from the experience of NESTLÉ HEALTH SCIENCE. As such, through its medical department and food, clinical nutrition and diet experts, NESTLÉ HEALTH SCIENCE will work in collaboration with the CLECE GROUP care team. By doing so the CLECE GROUP adds value to the care services provided for elderly people. In terms of nutritional advice, the agreements includes a plan to check, standardise and optimise special diets, taking into account the physiological and pathological needs of elderly people, in centres run by the CLECE GROUP. Health staff in the group will take a training programme designed and implemented by NESTLÉ HEALTH SCIENCE dealing with clinical nutrition, in response to the work by the CLECE GROUP to deal with the best.

For Walter Molhoek, Managing Director of NESTLÉ HEALTH SCIENCE IBERIA: “this agreement is a great opportunity to establish synergies and joint work plans. The end aim is to work together to improve the care and quality of life of elderly people”.

According to Cristóbal Valderas Alvarado, Managing Director of the CLECE GROUP: “our aim is to ensure the maximum wellbeing for the beneficiaries of the services that we provide. We want the best quality of life for our elderly people. That’s why in the care homes and centres that we manage, we promote a full, active, independent life. To that end, nutrition is a key elements of both health and wellbeing. That’s why having a specialist partner such as NESTLÉ HEALTH SCIENCE is an opportunity to improve our services and a clear benefit for users.”
